LIMITED EDITION PRINTS

Kern has selected a number of images to be printed as Limited Editions.  Most are marked with a lifetime limit of 25 prints, either 24in x 20in or 40in x 30in.  These are archival pigment ink processes on museum standards paper.  Each is directly printed by Kern or under his supervision with one of two long time printers; one in Los Angeles and one in Dallas.  They are signed, number and notated verso in pencil by Kern.

Edition prints are printed on demand one at a time with a future cap on the number of prints.  Thus an edition print marked 2/25, for example, may exist as only two prints forever unless another print is produced by Kern.  As of 2026 only a few editions have nearly reached the limit.

Kern will never authorize a person or entity to print his prints without his direct involvement.  It remains a personal process as part of his career as a photographer.

PRICING

As of 2026 pricing for Kern Limited Edition prints, depending on size and edition number, ranges between $6,000-$18,000.

These prices have been steadily rising each year since 2010 with his first exhibit at Fahey-Klein.  As Edition prints are sold the higher the edition number the more expensive the next print becomes.  Records are kept by Geof Kern Archive and the Registrar of Fahey-Klein Gallery.

PROOFS

Kern makes proofs of each print before printing them as a Limited Edition.  Proofs range in size between approximately 12in x 10in to 40in x 30in and range in number between 1 and 5.  Each one is priced individually.
